a vespa turned desk and more scooter-compact solutions

I came across this Vespa turned desk on FreshHome.com and can't get over how cool and functional it is. The Australian blogger of Reinventing Wheels used the body of a non-restorable 1968 Vespa to create a unique workstation that has mad style. It'd be a perfect piece for a small place that may not have room for a big desk/ office area.

This, of course, encouraged my search for more re-purposed scooters and compact desks:

1. Bel y Bel- from Spain- recycle vehicle pieces and create trendy furniture, inlcuding this Vespa-Seat Limited Edition BV-08.

2. The Cube Duke from Camif can be used as an end table with storage and easily transformed into a work space.

3. This Vespa chair, which uses the same idea as Bel y Bel, is actually relative to the above Vespa desk and another DIY project from Reinventing Wheels.

4. Maurizio Lamponi Leopardi- from Italy- turned the Vespa headlight into a functioning lamp and astounding piece of art.

5. For those who sit enough at work, this standing desk by Ursula Maier provides compactibility with standability to stretch out those sitting bones.

6. This rolling cube created for Deeply Madly Living can be easily rolled in and out of a closet or corner.

7. My personal favorite on the list is the Solitaire by Alexander Lotersztain. I love the simplicity of the piece and easy access storage area underneath the seat.

Which one is your favorite? Have you repurposed any form of transportation recently? Or created a unique workspace for a small area? Please, do share. :)

a creative duvet for a creative boy

I am smitten over this duvet! I love the artwork that Jen's son Daniel created but what I love even more is the inpiration that Jen is in taking the time and patience to create this.

Jen took some of  Daniel's rad drawings and uploaded them into Photoshop. After some cropping, sizing, and erasing she was left with the outlines to work with.

It took 10 hours of prepping and tracing for Jen to complete this super cool duvet for Daniel. Amazing! Totally want to do something similiar for Kai.

storage nook needs a new look

Trying to figure out what to do with this mess of a space. We have managed to turn it into a catch-all storage area. Fortunately, it's hiding behind a wall in our media/ office room. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Works for the husband, not so much for me.

I have some ideas in mind- such as turning that top shelf into a better organized cubby and getting an eye-catching file storage unit. It'd be nice to put up some art or family pictures, as well. Time to start some pinning on Pinterest!
